The gym analogy is brilliant on so many levels. I could riff all day on this, and as full of cuss and coffee as I am at this glorious Sunday dawn, I just might. For one: you can go to the gym every other day, work your upper-body, leg day, cardio, yadda-yadda...but if you haven’t changed your diet at home, you’re wasting your time and membership money. Too many people think a gym membership will solve all their weight and health issues. I’ve got the Good News and bad news in one line, friendo: Ye must be born again. And by that, I mean you look at everything through new eyes, with a new attitude, and proceed accordingly.
EVERY DAY is the Lord’s Day, my dude. The Sabbath is there for you to take a rest from your day job, as God knocked off after six days of crafting the universe and said, “Hey, this day off is good. Everyone should take a day off!” Jesus Himself said it (Mark 2:27, for those playing the home game), “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” As I said, I can go on. If you don’t get this lesson by now, you never will.
