I'll make this a category, as it best describes Post-America in the third decade of the 21st century.
The dark hilarity of our real-life honest-to-Orwell sci-fi dystopia continues to ensue. Instead of badthink or crimethink, though, what gets you in trouble, possibly arrested, is “spreading misinformation.” We’re waiting for government stooges to show up at our doors with “encouraging messages” and a needle full of mystery mRNA modifiers for our arms. “You can’t make this up” goes the old saying, and I’m here thinking, well, somebody sure as hell did.
No more mean tweets, though, so you’re all good with this, right? Just paying a little more at the pump, the grocery store, everywhere, but it’s a small price to pay for a Return to Decency. Heh.
This is only going to get funnier as all the black swans come home to roost.
